– Du har alltid lyst til å slå en verdensmester
- Det er ikke hverdagskost for meg å slå en verdensmester, men lite ville smakt bedre i 2018 enn å vinne 3000 meter hinder på hjemmebane under Oslo Bislett Games 7. juni, sier Karoline Bjerkeli Grøvdal. I dag ble duellen mot amerikanske Emma Coburn, som vant VM-gullet i London sist sommer, presentert som den første i en spennende rekke høydepunkter som det legges opp til i årets stevne.

– Hadde vært veldig godt med et godt løp på Bislett
Familien Vukicevic har varmet Bislett-publikum en årrekke. I år er Vladimir alene om jobben. Christina brukte sist helg til å gifte seg, Vladimir holdt tale. I morgen skal ha la beina tale.

– Jeg gjorde mitt beste
Genzebe Dibaba løp en ny fantastisk 5000-meter, og knuste resten av feltet på Bislett. 24-åringen fra Etiopia jaget lenge verdensrekorden satt av storesøster Tirunesh, men brukte til slutt drøyt 10 sekunder for mye i forhold til rekorden på 14.11.15.

– Tidenes stevne for fullsatte tribuner
- Jeg tror jeg har mine ord i behold når jeg sier at det startfeltet vi i år har på Oslo Bislett Games er tidenes beste. Vi er også fullstendig utsolgt for billetter. Dette blir en kveld for historiebøkene, sier stevnedirektør Steinar Hoen. I dag ble startlistene lansert, og hvilke felt vi får se på torsdagskvelden.

"The King" returns - Carl Lewis to Bislett as guest of honour
It was 25 years ago that the legendary Carl Lewis, the “athlete of century”, competed in a tightly contested 100m race at the old Bislett Stadium. It was an important day for Lewis; it was his 28th birthday. This year the man himself, often known as “the King” and the winner of two Olympic and three World Championship 100m titles will return to Oslo to be the guest of honour at the ExxonMobil Bislett Games. Maybe he will witness the rise of the next Olympic 100m champion at the Diamond League race in Oslo on 11 June.

Renaud Lavillenie to compete at the ExxonMobil Bislett Games
The new pole vault World Record holder, Renaud Lavillenie, will compete at the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Oslo on Wednesday 11 June. The French pole vaulter claimed his place among the all-time great track and field athletes when he cleared 6.16 metres on 15 February this year, beating the 21-year-old record of the pole vaulting legend Sergey Bubka.

The return of the Kings: Coe, Ovett and Cram at Bislett
The “British kings of middle distance” returned collectively to Oslo for the first time in nearly a quarter of a century when they gathered in Oslo to celebrate the Exxon Mobil Bislett Games on 13th of June 2013. In the late 70s and early 80s Seb Coe, Steve Ovett and Steve Cram were the most recognizable athletes in the world and the most dominant.
